Social impacts of IT - communication

Hello, I am a student officially studying IT diploma level 2 and today, I would be talking you through social impacts within IT and communication.

How has IT effected how we communicate with others?

IT has affected how we communicate in with others in many different ways, such as communication in an English technique called slang; it’s when you communicate with large sentences or words but input it in small words to save up time such as “BRB” know as be right back or “GTG” got to go. The use of speaking or writing slang could also impact on the way you would communicate with someone more socialized than you such as an employee. The use of slang has affected about 48% of the UK population on how they communicate to one another in based how they structure their English.

IT has also effected how we communicate by the use of social media website such as face book, twitter, snap-chat. In this time of this century, most people do not mostly communicate from face to face, they use social media website to communicate with each in many ways, either from text message, voice message or a live video chat. Within this use of technique of communication, there could be some disadvantages within these techniques of communication, some of them could be personal especially when you do not prefer yourself been active on a video chat, hacking personal details and more.


What method of communication are commonly used?

Nowadays the IT methods of communications which are commonly used are mostly Mobile Phones, Email, Fax, Video conference and other social media website such as Facebook, Twitter, and Snap-chat and so on.

Phones(mobile phones, house phones) are commonly used these days, they could be used for many various reasons, some reasons they could be use for are, to contact friends or family, they could be used for business employments and many other things. Phones developed through out years. They have changed from old modern phones to smart go  phones. Smart phones are more developed than modern phones, smart phones have many advantages such as taking photographs with it, recording videos, sending text messages, listening to music, watching movies and so on.

Email are commonly used by workers and friends, they have the ability attach videos, music, pictures and many more. They are mostly used to send letters referring many types of things. They could also have the capability to send document attachments to anyone.

Fax are not commonly used these days, after email was introduced, fax became less popular. Fax are similar to email's but they work differently, Fax receive information by sound,

Social media website such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Snap-chat are also commonly used these day to communicate with one and another within voice message, text message or even live video chat or video message. However there are disadvantages within these Social media website, such as scam, spam and even  cyber bullying and so on. this are treats which normally occur when you use social media website.

Why was it a good communication channel to use to provide information to others about the use of IT in Society? 



Within my own blogs I have created, I feel that it has been a good communication channel to others, because it contains details of information which are mostly written personally by me.

Another way of keeping your blogs safe is by having an anonymous name within your account, a lot of people do this because of these reasons such as, they are scared of been threaten by other people on-line, They are frighten of getting hacked by cyber attackers and they are scared of getting cyber bullied on-line within the internet.
