Within the second half of the 20th century organisation, business and also the government all began to using computers to save information about their customers, clients and staff in databases for an example:

Databases are really simple to use, but they take some time to edit or add details within the bases.
The purpose of saving data protection on computers is that, it is faster to find information from the computer than through paper files. The second purpose of saving and adding data protection onto computers is because sometimes files could go missing but through computer they cannot go missing because they are save into the computer.

Abuse of IT – viruses, malware, spam, phishing, denial of service attacks etc

Hello, I am a student officially studying IT diploma level 2 and today, I would be talking you through the types of abuse of IT within our computer systems and technologies.

Viruses

A virus is known as a piece of code which loads onto your computer that makes copies by attaching itself to an alternative program. Viruses are similar to Malware and sometimes they have the advantage to change or destroy files and even crash network services. Viruses have the advantage to make an exact copy and reproduce. Viruses spread by many ways by e-mail, computer network or input devices such as a pen drive. You need to make sure that you do not open emails which you don't know where they come from because when you open it, there might


How to avoid a viruses

A way to avoid viruses which affects your computer is by purchasing an anti-virus software and install it onto your computer system. the software would grant you computer protection from viruses which may harm to computer. Some example of a anti-viruses are: McAfee, bit-defender, Norton and etc.

Malware

Malware is a short term of saying Malicious software a software created to specifically disrupt or damage your computer system. You can normally get Malware on your computer system if you go to website's which are unsafe and unsecured. Software's such as Firewall, anti-malware and anti-virus are used to protect and recover from attacks.

Spam

Spam is when you have many types of messages in an instance for an example the repeating of a same message multiple times. Spam mostly happen through our junk mail, but they could happen anywhere at any-time and spam is know of taking alot of network bandwidth. Spam does not only acquire within mails, it could also acquire within chat rooms aswell, when some one sends the same message multiple times. A way to avoid Spam is that you do not give people your email address or your telephone number.

 And also another alternative way to avoid Spam is that your have to make sure that you do not reply messages you get from spammers so that those people who send you those messages would think that, that type of email is not in use.




Phishing
Phishing is some type of fraud which happens all the time, it could occur when someone sends you an  email or calls you through the phone, tricking you by claiming that they work for a legit company so that they could still your personal information in terms of that your credit card information, identification and etc.


Phishing also happens through fake website's, criminals intend to create and copy website's with the same exact name so that they could steal details, an example of Bar-clays could be a copied website and people with no IT technical knowledge would think that their on the right website. This is a risk because when you enter you personal banking details onto the website you do not realise is fake, criminals would be able to have a copy of your bank details which would then lead to a lot of problems within the future such as great amount of money loss. A way you could prevent your self been the victim getting scammed by criminals is by having strong passwords.

If your computer is not secured, this would mean that you would have a higher chance of personal information stolen when you are trying to shop on-line.

Denial of service attacks

The meaning of Denial of service is when a hacker disables a server, it is an illegal thing to do, but people intend to do it to annoy people, this could happen any time at any place around the world.  A short way of writing denial of service is DOS.
There are some other types of DOS which  are called "Ping of Death and Tear-drop attack"

Ping of death is a type of DOS attack which is mainly used on a computer which is involves sending a malicious ping to any computer system.

Ping of death attackers are really rare within these days we leave in, because right now, most operation system have been fixed to prevent this type of attack form occurring.

A tear-drop attack is a DOS attack and it is when fragmented packets are programmed to overlap on each other when the receiving host tries to reassemble them.

Abuse of IT – Cyberbullying

Hello, I am a student officially studying IT diploma level 2 and today, I would be talking you through  Cyberbullying and otther abusive stuff of IT





What is cyberbulling?

Cyber-bulling is when you have advantage over a person by treating him or her, humiliating or causing any type of harm through information and communication technologies such as mobile phones(SMS text and picture MSM phone message), messages through social media website(snap-chat, Facebook, Twitter, Skype), hacking or deleting computer account and data.

How does it effect?
There are negative impression which occurs emotionally when you have been cyber bullied by someone, some examples of the effects are, been less confident to reveal yourself to others, been depressed, cyber bullies would not find it easy to say horrible things to you easily been face to face but they would find it easy sending a treat message or all kinds of horrible thing to you throughout the internet.

What should you do if your a victim and how can you avoid it or limit its effects?

If your a victim been bullied by a cyber bully, you could block the person bulling you or you could  create a new account with an anonymous image and name so that the person who is cyber bullying could not track you down easily and continue his process. Another way you could avoid  cyber bullies for forever is that you could report cyber bullies on a website called"www. CEOP.police.uk" so that those people who cyber bully people on the internet all the time would be punished by their crimes.

Impact of IT – Education

Hello, I am a student officially studying IT diploma level 2 and today, I would be talking you through impacts of IT within education.

How does IT contain impacts of Education?

Software applications

IT contains good impacts of Education because IT contains a Software applications such called Microsoft Office, in the file it includes: Microsoft word, Microsoft Power-point Microsoft publisher and many others. They are used to write text and they are developed to make your work neat and organised in a good displayed view. another advantage of  Software's such as Microsoft Office is that you could make your words bold, you could change your style of writing, it can automatic underline a word with red if its spelt wrong and then could be corrected, you could increase the size of your writing and more.

Some disadvantages about Microsoft Office is tha , it might be too expensive to purchase and if you do not know IT skills about Software's such as Microsoft Offices you would be unable to understand how you want it to work.

Internet

The internet is also a good way of education because you are able to find websites such us Bitesize and Mymaths which have been programmed to grant you the access to get educated throughout the website within many types of subjects in education. Multimedia websites could also educate us such as YouTube which contain a section of education where you could learn new things. In past, we normally educate ourselves by reading and studying throughout books, but for now we have various ways of educating out selves with computers.

Moodle

IT tools such as Moodle has done a good impact to education because you are able to find resources from the website which could then help you on completing your assignment with good information, you are able to publish due assignment and also check deadline dates for your assignment.

Smart boards

Smart boards are boards which are able to interact. They are used mostly in schools, colleges, universities. The benefit of Smart boards is that , they enlarge things which are displayed on the computer screen, they make it easy for teachers to present things to the students so that the students could easily understand. they are also very good on presentation.

Smart boards also have disadvantages such as, the interactive pen are sometimes un-responsive, which means they are unable to work sometimes. This causes frustration towards teachers sometimes when they are trying to present stuff to students. An alternative disadvantage about Smart boards is that sometimes the light from outside bright towards the board , this means that students would find it hard to read stuff of the board.

Software industries prevent people from copying software illegally by having a sticker telling you it must not be copied, but it only could be copied in accordance with a licence agreement. How has IT changed the way we work and manufacturing?

IT has changed the way many people work in many ways such as, been able to write down text and numbers into a computer system and then storing data and document, than writing down your work on paper which waste a lot of time than working on the computer.

IT develops within years, which means in time new systems are invented , therefore as a result more jobs would be introduced within IT.

Long time ago within modern days there where factories such as the coca cola, there where hired people hired to work in manufacturing factories such as the coca cola factory because in modern days technology was not advance or developed to work as people wanted.

But now there are less of them because of the introduction of new technology which could do the job than hiring people to do it. This is an advantage because with new machines doing the work, the company could save a lot of money. This is also a disadvantage because less jobs would be introduced within IT.

The Internet

IT has changed how we spend our free time because the internet could now lead us into many types of entertainment such as music, games, movies and many more. this means we are able to do many things in a instant while using the internet on IT. In the past when IT was not that popular, many people consider themselves to go outside and explore and experience new things. But nowadays most people use the internet to explore and experience new things they have not experienced in their life.

However IT has effected how we spend our time wisely because while using IT to watch movie, play video games and others it is reducing most of our time doing an active entertainment such us dancing , playing sports and more. IT could also cause heath and safety risk when we use it too much such as, effecting our eye vision,



Social media websites

IT has changed how we communicate with others because after the introduction of social media, there has been a lack of close to close communication, for an example in the past when technology was not that uplifting, people use to meet each other face to face to communicate with each other, people us to each and others houses more often, people use to hangout the outside doors more often. But now when we move forward to the past, technology becomes more advance which means it gives us the ability to communicate with friends without even meeting them face to face or in real life and we spend more time with technology because we can get entertainment any time as we want.

IT also opens new opportunity to make new friends all over the world on-line by using social media websites such as Facebook, snap-chat, Instagram and more. Within social media you could have group chats, video conference and so on. Overall the could be many disadvantages about making new friends on-line, some disadvantages could be cyber bulling, image theft and so many other disadvantages on social media.

If we look into the past mid-90s, it was unable for anyone to shop on-line but only the where capable to shop on-line by the use phone. But now IT has been developing through out the years, we are able to shop on-line by using phone and internet anywhere at any time.

IT changes where we shop and buy things depending on the price or statues of the item, even though we have the advantage to shop on-line using phone and internet, there is able to be of an appearance of disadvantages included for where you shop and buy things on-line.Some disadvantages which occur within where you shop and buy items could depend on what store you bought the item from, how much the item cost in this store than a different store, the item could be broken, or replaced with a different item.

IT also changes how we shop and buy things by buying items or products on-line using a computer, which is then transported from where you bought the item to your home. this is an advantage because it saves you time instead of going out to buy an item which waste time by waiting in the queue or depending how far the store is to your home.

 IT also changes how we shop on-line by searching to purchase an item which doesn't exist in the store, but searching through other types of stores in the internet, the item could be available, which would save you time roaming around searching for item in stores when you could just search on-line.

Social media website also has the ability to grant a few amount of people from all over the world to be a celebrity from what they publish on a websites; this could mean they could publish positive or negative videos of themselves been creative which may inspires people, they could create blogs of useful information, they could do also all kinds of entertaining things which would bring people closer to him or her.

You could be famous within different paths when using the IT to do many things, things as presenting or creating entertainment through out the internet, making tutorial video's based on education and etc.

PewDiePie is a gamer who publishes videos on a multimedia website called YouTube, he is the only YouTuber who has almost 27 million subscribers. His name actual name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg and his YouTube name is known as PewDiePie. He is well know by his reputation and what he publishes on YouTube.

This is how sometimes some people who use multimedia website manage to become famous throughout the internet.
